NEW ORLEANS, La. — Northeastern track and field head coach
Tramaine Shaw was named the USTFCCCA's Northeast Region Women's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year, the organization announced Thursday.
Shaw coached the women's team to its first CAA Championship since 2018 and its first ever CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship, besting a field of 12 teams to win the meet. The Huskies won five gold medals at the meet and fifth year
Dominique Biron was named Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet.
This season, Shaw oversaw seven school records, 49 top ten all-time marks and 111 personal bests from athletes. Biron finished 23rd in the NCAA in the pentathlon with a score of 4,062, senior
Abigail Hassman had the 46th best mark in the 3000m at 9:09.68 and 49th in the 5K with a 15:56.99 time, and freshman
Savannah Blair broke the school record in the 60m with a time of 7.46 seconds.
The Huskies will open their outdoor season next Friday, March 22 at the UCF Knights Invitational.
