Huskies Close Out Weekend In Miami and Massachusetts With Seven Event Wins

BOSTON - The Northeastern track and field completed the Miami Hurricane Invitational and the UMass Commonwealth Invitational on Saturday evening with a combined seven event wins. 

MIAMI INVITATIONAL
  • Sophomore Elena Olson took fourth in the 100m hurdles, crossing the finish line at 14.25, and putting her at tenth on the all-time list.
  • In the 110m hurdles, freshman Iolo Grant finished fourth in 14.58.
  • Another fourth place was earned by sophomore Morgan Hayward (56.22) in the 400m, followed by sophomore Cora Kunze (57.04) in sixth place.
  • The 100m was championed by junior Savannah Blair, crossing the finish at 11.47 and breaking her own school record. Blair took second place in the 200m in 23.52.
  • The mens 4x100m were victorious in 40.18. The efforts were combined from senior Michael Stroup, junior Brunner Williams, freshman Raymond Felton III and sophomore Taeshawn Berry.
  • Williams took fourth in the 200m (21.09), followed by Felton (21.12) in fifth and Alex Landry (21.12) in sixth. 

UMASS INVITATIONAL
  • In the pole vault, senior Max Zuckerman finished second with a mark of 4.46m.
  • Freshman Ogechi Nathan scored a 5.51m mark in the long jump to end the day in fifth place. Nathan was victorious in the triple jump (12.10m) and added her name to the all-time list in fifth. 
  • Senior Leila Curtis championed the shot put, throwing a 14.76m mark. Junior Catherine Sargent followed close behind, taking second (13.76m).
  • Freshman Logan Alfandari threw his way to fifth place in the men's shot put with a 15.40m mark.
  • In the javelin, senior Hailey Romero took sixth place with a 32.81m throw.
  • Senior Liangie Calderon earned a first place finish in the hammer throw, earning a 54.13m mark.
  • Three Huskies made there way into the top six in the men's hammer throw. Junior Aidan Moreau lead the way in third place (56.60), followed by sophomore Zackery DelSasso in fourth (56.49) and senior Tremain Robinson in sixth (54.87).
  • Freshman Lola Satre Morales championed the 400m in 57.37. Sophomore Sloan Hinton took third place in 58.06.
  • Junior Victoria Knight dashed to an 11.94 finish in the 100m to take second place. Knight made a fifth place finish in the 200m.
  • In the 110m hurdles, freshman Aiden Ray finished in second place (14.51). Ray also competed in the 400m hurdles, taking fifth (54.26).
  • Senior Lauren Trejo was victorious in the 800m (2:15.93), followed by sophomore Emily McCann in fourth place (2:17.23).
  • The 4x400m relay team of Hinton, Knight, Nathan and Thomas combined efforts for second place (3:55.65).
