CHERRY HILL, N.J.— Kicking off the spring season, the Northeastern women's rowing program competed at the Doc Hosea Invitational on Saturday morning on the Cooper River.
"This was a really solid performance from the entire team against some very strong crews. We came away with some things to work on but overall it was a good start to the season," said head coach Joe Wilhelm.
- The first varsity eight, stroked by Isla Bathgate, and first varsity four, stroked by Llian Riedel, jump started things for the Huskies, both placing third with a times of 6:27.830 and 7:32.890, respectively.
- The second varsity eight, stroked by Tess Miller, crossed the finish line in a time of 6:49.590, placing fourth.
- The third varsity eight stroked by Dylan Halky had a time of 6:57.690 to finish in second place, while the fourth varsity eight posted a time of 7:12.860 to place fifth.
- Wrapping up the day, Northeastern's second varsity four finished in sixth place with a time of 7:53.120.
The Huskies are back on the Charles next weekend as they compete in the Beanpot on Saturday, April 6 against Boston University, Radcliffe, and Dartmouth. Northeastern will also be hosting its annual Alumnae, Families and Friends Weekend with the entire Northeastern rowing community invited to join the team for a brunch reception, following the races, at Henderson Boathouse.Â
