Huskies Finish Up At Sean Collier Invitational, Virginia Challenge

BOSTON — The Northeastern track & field team finished in the top five in 13 events at the MIT Sean Collier Invitational and seniors Nicholas Pisciotta and Hope Belvit finished fifth and sixth in their hammer throws, respectively, at the Virginia Challenge as NU wrapped up their weekend action.
 
VIRGINIA CHALLENGE
  • Senior Nicholas Pisciotta hit a personal best in the hammer throw with a 62.94m toss, the seventh-best mark by a Husky all-time.
  • Senior Hope Belvit was just .02m off from her personal best in the hammer as she finished sixth with a 56.83m throw. 
MIT SEAN COLLIER INVITATIONAL TRACK EVENTS
  • Fifth year Dominique Biron took first in the 100m hurdles, crossing the line at 13.94 seconds, while freshman Annalisa Marckmann finished second with a 14.93 time and sophomore Emily Plante took fourth with a 15.20 mark.
  • Senior Cyrus Kurd ran the 1500, placing second with a time of 4:03.83.
  • The Huskies placed two athletes in the top five of the 400m with Ariann Robinson (57.04) taking fifth on the women's side and Jessie Legister (48.84) finishing third on the men's side.
  • Freshman Chinwuba Jon-Nwakalo finished fourth in the 110m hurdles with a 15.74 mark.
  • In the men's 100m dash, freshman Bashir Praileau took fifth place with a personal-best 10.90 time.
  • Seniors Anders Narita (1:52.06) and James Pothier (1:52.13) both finished in the top ten in the 800m, taking seventh and eighth, respectively.
  • In the women's 800m, freshman Keira Gamily posted a 2:16.71 time to place fifth.
  • Biron also placed first in the 400m hurdles and as the only runner under to finish under a minute with her 59.99 time.
  • Freshman Johnny Emmanuel ran a 21.84 in the 200m to finish third in the event. Sophomore Ava Carry-McDonald posted a 26.23 on the women's side, taking fifth.
FIELD EVENTS
  • Sophomore Hailey Romero championed the women's javelin, throwing for a 38.93m mark.
  • In the men's pole vault, sophomore Kevin Xu cleared a 4.25m bar, finishing second in the event.
  • Freshman Cassie Cinzori moved into the All-Time Top Ten List in the pole vault with her 3.40m mark, tying her for 10th all-time. Classmate Hannah Shaw reached the same height.
  • The men's long jump saw sophomore Collin Haj Abed finish second with a 6.88m jump, while Carry-McDonald won the women's competition after hitting the sand at 5.40m and freshman Camryn Cole finished second with a 5.38m mark.
  • Sophomore Leila Curtis (12.98m) and senior Madeleine DuChaussee (12.85) went 2-3 in the shot put.
  • Junior Tremain Robinson placed third in the hammer throw with a 54.89m toss.
  • Carry-McDonald continued her impressive day with an 11.87m jump in the triple jump, moving into eighth all-time at Northeastern.
The Huskies will be at the Penn Relays beginning Thursday, April 25 and then will host the Jay Carisella Coaches' Invitational Saturday, April 27 to close out their regular season meets.
