Huskies Wrap Up Competition In New Jersey

PRINCETON, N.J.— On a sunny day on Lake Carnegie, the Northeastern women's rowing team completed competition against No. 3 Princeton, No. 19 Columbia and Notre Dame.

"All of our crews put out a tremendous effort today against some nationally ranked teams," said head coach Joe Wilhelm. "The varsity four race was an incredible battle all the way down the course. We came away with a better idea of the elements of the race that each of our crews need to work on. The competition we faced today will help prepare us for the championship regattas ahead."
  • The Huskies' entered two varsity four boats in today's competition with the second varsity four kicking things off with a time of 7:43.80. The varsity four, coxed by Marlana Mentzer, finished with a time of 7:25.30.
  • The first varsity eight, placing third and stroked by Camille Arnold-Mages, finished with a time of 6:26.00.
  • Coming in third place, the second varsity eight, coxed by Skylar Shea, clocked a 6:40.90 time.
  • Both the third and fourth varsity eight boats placed second in their respective races. The third varsity eight finished with a 6:52.00 time, while the fourth varsity eight clocked a 6:57.70.
Northeastern is back in the water on Sunday, May 5 at Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass.
