BETHEL, Ohio – Junior
Windsyr Maughan of the Northeastern women's rowing team has been named the recipient of the NCAA's Elite 90 Award, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.
A five-time Dean's List honoree, five-time Top Dog honoree and four-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll member, Maughan received her undergraduate degree this past December in Environmental Science & Policy, finishing with a perfect 4.0 GPA, and began her graduate degree in Spring 2024 in Environmental Science & Policy where she currently maintains a 4.0 GPA.
Maughan is the second student-athlete in Northeastern Athletics history to win the award, which was first handed out in 2009. She is the first rower in program history to earn the accolade.
The honor recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
