Hockey Opens 2025 At Quinnipiac

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team will play their first game of the 2025 calendar year this Saturday (Jan. 4) as the hit the road for a contest with the Quinnipiac Bobcats at 4:00 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. LAST TIME OUT: Northeastern picked up a 4-3 overtime victory over Alaska Anchorage on Sunday, Dec. 29 at the 35th annual Ledyard Classic. The Huskies were lifted to their victory by the game winner from junior Cam Lund, while seeing regulation goals from junior Vinny Borgesi, freshman Joe Connor and sophomore Dylan Hryckowian. Additionally, for his fifth win of the season, sophomore goaltender Cameron Whitehead recorded 20 saves, while senior Ryan McGuire finished, for his fifth time this year, with a game-high 11 faceoff wins.
  2. BATTLE WITH THE BOBCATS: The Huskies and the Bobcats have only faced off 12 times in program history. Most recently, NU played an exhibition game at M&T Bank Arena that resulted in a 4-2 win. Prior to this season, Northeastern tied twice in 2023-24 with Quinnipiac, who were the reigning national champions  (one exhibition, one non-conference matchup).
  3. JUNIOR-SOPHOMORE CONNECTION: Only two Huskies have each at least one point in every win this season. The Maine native, Jack Williams, has totaled nine points from five goals and four assists, while sophomore Dylan Hryckowian has collected eight points from four goals and four assists.
