BOSTON – Former Northeastern captain Kevin Roy will be inducted to the Beanpot Hall of Fame at the 72
nd tournament this coming February. He is the 16th representative from Northeastern to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Roy will be presented with the award during an on-ice ceremony prior to the Beanpot Tournament Semifinal game on Monday, February 3 at TD Garden.
Roy was a member of the Northeastern men's hockey from 2012-2016 during which he helped the Huskies to three consecutive Beanpot Finals. In the 2013, Roy was named Beanpot tournament MVP following a five-goal performance that included a hat trick in the semifinal round against Boston University.
During his tenure, Roy registered seven goals and five assists for 12 points in eight Beanpot games. Additionally, he was the leading scorer in both the 2013 and 2015 Beanpot tournaments.
Roy left the Northeastern Huskies as an All-American, All-Hockey East selection, New England All-Star, team MVP, and finished as the school's 11
th all-time leading scorer with 150 career points.
The 2012 draft pick by the Anaheim Ducks is now in his ninth year of professional hockey with time spent playing in the NHL, AHL, SHL, Liiga and ICEHL.
