Northeastern Travels To No. 6 Maine

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team is set for a single road contest this Friday, Jan. 31 as they face off with the No. 6 Maine Black Bears at Harold Alfond Sports Arena. This weekend's contest will mark the third matchup this season between the two programs and the 139th meeting overall.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. LAST TIME AT ALFOND: The last time Northeastern played at Alfond Arena, the Huskies finished with a weekend split against, the then, No. 9 Black Bears. After dropping in game one, Northeastern bounced back with a 4-0 shutout in game two, led by former forward Alex Campbell with two goals and former captain Justin Hryckowian with one goal and one assists. Additionally, NU netminder Cameron Whitehead tallied 39 saves.
  2. CAPTAIN JACK (WILLIAMS): The Huskies leading scorer falls to the captain Jack Williams who has collected 29 points from 12 goals and 17 assists through 23 games. Williams' points total currently ranks him among the top-12 in the country. Since the turn of the new year, the 5-11 forward has tallied 11 points in six games including a four-point outing on the road against No. 18/17 Quinnipiac from one goal and three assists. This season overall, the Maine native is boasting a 1.3 points per game.
  3. IN IT TO VIN IT: The fourth-highest scorer on the Northeastern roster is defenseman Vinny Borgesi who has tallied 20 points from five goals (two-game winners), surpassing his goal total from the 2023-24 season through 23 games, and 15 assists, leading all NU defensemen in each category. Additionally, the junior has collected 29 blocked shots.
