Rylie Jones and freshman
Ella Lloyd of the Northeastern women's hockey team earned weekly awards from Hockey East as announced on Monday. Jones was tabbed as the Army ROTC Defender of the Week, while Lloyd claimed Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week accolades.
Jones posted her first career goal to deliver the Huskies a come-from-behind victory and weekend sweep over RIT on Saturday. She finished the weekend with a plus-one rating and tacked on one blocked shot.
Lloyd posted one goal and one assist in the Huskies' weekend sweep over the Tigers, scoring her first collegiate goal on Friday and following it up with an assist on Saturday's game-winning goal. The Alberta native is the only Hockey East rookie defenseman with multiple points on the season.
Jones, Llyod and the Huskies are back in action with a two-game weekend, beginning on Friday, Oct. 10 at 1:30 p.m. against Providence and wrapping up on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. against RPI.
