Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Alarie And Fritz Lead Northeastern Past Harvard, 77-60

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Xander Alarie poured in a game-high 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Northeastern men's basketball team (2-1) to a 77-60 victory over Harvard (2-1) on Tuesday night at Lavietes Pavilion.

The Huskies took control in the second half, opening on an 8-0 run to turn a seven-point halftime lead into a double-digit advantage that they never relinquished. Northeastern's lead grew to as many as 24 points late in the game before the Huskies emptied the bench down the stretch.

Alarie, who scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half, was efficient from the field, going 9-of-13 from the floor along with a game-high three steals en route to his second straight double-double and the most points for a Northeastern freshman since Jahmyl Telfort vs. Drexel on Mar. 8, 2021 (30 points).

Youri Fritz had another strong performance for Northeastern, finishing with 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, marking the first time since the 2022-23 season that the Huskies had two players record double-doubles in the same game.

JB Frankel provided a strong scoring punch off the bench with 13 points on four made three-pointers, including a four-point play late in the first half, while LA Pratt had 12 first half points before leaving the game with an injury.

The Huskies shot 45% from the field (27-of-60) and connected on a season-high nine three-pointers. Northeastern's defense, meanwhile, forced 18 turnovers and converted them into 20 points, including 12 in the first half alone.

Harvard was led by Chandler Pigge's 15 points, while Tey Barbour added 12 points on four three-pointers for a Crimson squad that shot 37% overall and 30% from long range.

The Huskies will be back in action on Saturday when Northeastern hosts Vermont at 1 p.m. in the team's final game at Historic Matthews Arena. Tickets are available by visiting NUHuskies.com/tickets.
