Men's Basketball Travels To Syracuse Saturday

BOSTON – After nearly two weeks off, the Northeastern men's basketball team is back in action on Saturday when the Huskies travel to Syracuse for a 4 p.m. tip-off at the JMA Wireless Dome. The game will be streamed on ACCNX.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. SERIES HISTORY VS. SYRACUSE

Northeastern and Syracuse will be meeting for the 10th time, and second time in the last four years. The Orange have won each of the previous nine meetings. NU has recorded nine victories over high-major opponents in Bill Coen's tenure.

2. CENTRAL NEW YORK ROOTS
As a 1983 graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., head coach Bill Coen is no stranger to Central New York. Coen played four years for the Continentals, winning three ECAC Championships. As a senior, he served as team captain and led Hamilton to a national ranking.

Coen accepted his first coaching position at Canajoharie (N.Y.) High School in 1986, leading the school to a 19-3 mark and was named Coach of the Year in his one season leading the team. The following year, he returned to his alma mater and served two seasons as assistant varsity coach and junior varsity head coach. During his tenure under legendary head coach Tom Murphy, Hamilton compiled a 38-10 mark.

Murphy came to Northeastern with Coen in 2006, serving first as an associate head coach for four years and then coordinator of basketball advancement for 15 seasons before retiring in 2025.

3. HEATING UP FROM DEEP
William Kermoury had it going for the Huskies on Dec. 7 vs. CCSU, finishing the night a career-best 6-of-12 from three-point range, the most threes made for a Husky since 2023. He's also just one of seven players in the CAA to hit at least six threes in a game this season.
