Men's Basketball Kicks Off CAA Play At Elon, North Carolina A&T

BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team opens conference play with three games in six days through North Carolina, beginning on Monday night at Elon (7pm) and Wednesday afternoon at North Carolina A&T (3 p.m.). Both games will be streamed on FloCollege.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. SERIES HISTORY VS. THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS

Northeastern and Elon will be meeting for the 22nd time, with the Huskies holding a 13-8 edge in the all-time series. The teams have split the last four meetings, including an 84-72 NU win at Elon on Jan. 20, 2024 in which Bill Coen became the CAA's all-time wins leader.

Wednesday's matchup with the Aggies will be the fourth meeting between the two teams. Northeastern leads the series, 2-1, including a 69-55 victory last season in Boston.

2. HUSKIES IN CAA OPENERS
The Huskies are 14-6 all-time in CAA openers, including victories in 11 of the last 13 seasons. Of those 11 victories, five came on the road.

3. DOUBLE DOUBLE TRACKER
Xander Alarie is tied for second in the CAA with three double doubles in 11 games this season. Earlier in the year he became the first Northeastern freshman to record a double double since the 2016-17 season after a 13-point, 13-rebound effort at Colgate on Nov. 7. He followed it up with a career-high 23 points and 11 boards on Nov. 11 at Harvard, becoming the first Huskies rookie to record a double double in back-to-back games since Shawn James in 2004-05.

He is one of four Huskies to record a double double this season:
