No. 12/11 Northeastern Welcomes UMass For Weekend Series

BOSTON, Mass. — The No. 12/11 Northeastern men's hockey team hosts UMass for a two-game series at Matthews Arena on Saturday, Dec. 6 (7 p.m.) and Sunday, Dec. 6 (5:30 p.m.). Sunday evening's contest will air on NESN.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. MASS MATCHUP ON DECK: In the most recent contest between the two programs, Northeastern defeated No. 11 UMass 4-2 at the Mullins Center on Oct. 17, marking the Huskies' first road victory of the season against a ranked opponent. In that matchup, four different Huskies found the back of the net, while nine skaters recorded at least one point. Junior goaltender Lawton Zacher made 25 saves in net.
  2. NEW HEIGHTS FOR HUSKIES: Sophomore Griffin Erdman has doubled his offensive production with six points through 13 games, delivering crucial goals and assists in key victories over ranked opponents including UMass, Denver, and Boston University. Junior Eli Sebastian has already set a career-high with five assists while significantly improving his defensive play with 18 blocked shots, and sophomore James Fisher has surpassed last year's point total by scoring in back-to-back games during Northeastern's sweep of No. 11/10 Boston College.
  3. A HUSKY NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER: Junior Dylan Hryckowian led all Hockey East skaters with ten points in November to earn Player of the Month honors, while freshman Jacob Mathieu topped all rookies with nine points and senior defenseman Vinny Borgesi ranked second among blueliners with seven points—all three entering December on scoring streaks.
