BOSTON - The Northeastern women's swimming and diving team (4-1) captured a thrilling 156-144 victory over the University of New Hampshire on Friday, Dec. 6, at home in a closely contested dual meet, highlighted by freshman
Abigail Gowern championing both the 1000 Free and the 500 Free.
- Senior Anelise Kim placed second in the 3-Meter Diving with a score of 259.50 points, leading the Huskies' diving contingent. Sophomore Maddie Wong took third place scoring 233.10.
- Freshman Abigail Gowern touched first in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:34.90, edging out UNH's Marisa White (10:40.90). Junior Bella Busconi took third place, completing the race at 10:42.61.
- In the fifth event, freshman Sophie Bromley won the 100 Back in 58.12, with senior Teagan Osga taking second in 58.20. Fellow Husky sophomore Delaney Alonso rounded out the podium at third place (59.07).
- Anelise Kim took second place in the 1-Meter Diving with a final score of 263.63. Maddie Wong followed in third with a 222.38.
- The eleventh event was championed by senior Anna Verlander. Verlander claimed first place in the 200 Back with a time of 2:04.02.
- Freshman Abigail Gowern captured her second individual win of the day in the 500 Free, finishing in 5:09.41.
- Freshman Alex Campion touched first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.51.
- The Northeastern team of Alex Fuller, Kotoko Blair, Mary Nordmann and May Bradburn clinched the overall Northeastern win by taking first place in the 200 Free Relay at 1:34.59.
The Huskies will be heading to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, from Dec. 15 to Dec. 22 for their training trip. They kick off the new year with the Tate Ramsden Invitational, hosted by Dartmouth, from Jan. 16 to Jan. 17 in Hanover, N.H.
