Northeastern Swim Concludes Boston Winter Open

BOSTON – The Northeastern University women's swim and dive team concluded its regular season at the Boston Winter Open on Saturday.

  • Freshman Kate Kerber opened the afternoon session with a seventh-place finish in the 100 Fly, touching the wall at 56.80. Seniors Francesca Arciniegas (56.86), Emily Cooley (57.75), and sophomore Marcela Scaramuzza (58.26) claimed the last three top ten places.
  • Graduate student Emily Gjertsen won the 400 IM, swimming a 4:24.79 for a new personal best.
  • In the 200 Free, sophomore May Bradburn championed the race with a time of 1:50.50. She also set a new personal best, beating her previous mark at last year's Boston Winter Open. Junior Anna Verlander (1:54.75) and freshman Peyton Knightly (1:55.82) also earned top-ten finishes.
  • Kerber was the highest-finishing Husky in the 100 Free, swimming a 53.56.
  • Senior Hannah Seward claimed third in the 200 Breast, touching the wall at 2:23.97.
  • Senior Devon Peterson concluded the meet with the 200 Fly, where she swam a 2:09.42.

The Huskies take a two-and-a-half-week break before traveling to the CAA Swimming & Diving Championships, held at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Virginia, from February 26 to March 1.
