NU Sweeps NCAA Events At Lake Morey Regatta

FAIRLEE, VT — The Northeastern women's rowing team competed at the Lake Morey Regatta on Saturday morning. The Huskies swept all NCAA events on the day, claiming a four-for-four sweep over Rhode Island in session one and going four-for-five against Cornell in session two.

SESSION ONE:

The third varsity eight kicked off the day with a 38.4 second win over URI. Stroked by Claudia Decker, the 3V8 crossed the line at 7:29.1.
Northeastern's varsity eight and second varsity eight took back-to-back first-place finishes against the Rams. The varsity eight crossed the finish line in 7:06.7, while the second varsity eight posted a time of 7:29.2.
Rounding out the first session of the day, the varsity four finished 14.1 seconds over Rhode Island, with a time of 8:16.1.

SESSION TWO:

The Huskies won four straight races in the second session of the day. The varsity eight, stroked by Heather Taylor, defeated Cornell with a time of 7:09.60.
Both the second varsity eight and third varsity eight were victorious over the Big Red, clocking times of 7:21.1 and 7:56.92, respectively.
With Catherine Ingram in the coxswain seat, the Huskies' varsity four won by over 11 seconds against Cornell, finishing with a time of 8:19.20.
The second varsity four came in third against No. 22 Dartmouth and Cornell with a time of 8:42.8, while the fourth varsity eight took second to the Big Green in the final race of the day with a time of 8:10.49.

Following a bye weekend, Northeastern will head Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 4 in Worcester, Mass.
