Northeastern Wraps First Races Of Spring On The Charles

BOSTON — Under cloudy skies on the Charles River, the Northeastern women's rowing team returned home for the first time this season to take on local rival Boston University, No. 22 Dartmouth and MIT on Saturday morning. 
  • The first varsity eight finished behind BU, with a time of 6:29.0, stroked by Heather Taylor. 
  • Northeastern's second varsity eight, stroked by Victoria Thibeault, fell behind Dartmouth, but battled back to edge the Terriers for a second-place finish with a time of 6:40.8.
  • Both the first varsity four and the second varsity four crossed the line for third-place finishes, clocking times of 7:46.4 and 7:56.9, respectively.
  • The third varsity eight and fourth varsity eight closed out the day for Northeastern. The third varsity eight, stroked by Grace Regan, crossed the finish in line in a time of 7:11.7 to place second, and the fourth varsity eight, stroked by Olivia Caruso, finished in a time of 7:34.2 to finish fourth.
The Huskies are back on the Charles next weekend as they compete on Saturday, April 12 against Boston University and Columbia. Northeastern will also be hosting its annual Spring Brunch with the Northeastern alumni, families, parents, and friends invited to join the team for a reception, following the races, at Henderson Boathouse. Registrar here.
