THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- GOING STREAKING
- The CCSU Blue Devils come into the weekend on the nation's fifth-longest active winning streak, winning their last seven games with their last loss coming in midweek non-conference action against St. John's on March 26 (8-7). Northeastern just had its longest winning streak of the season snapped on Sunday as the Campbell Camels spoiled the weekend sweep. It was Northeastern's longest winning streak since the 2023 season, which lasted 10 games and included a win over CCSU in that run.
- NO FREE BASES
- Northeastern finished week eight with the top walks per nine average and 2nd-highest WHIP in the nation. The Huskies lead the NCAA with a 2.78 walks per nine average, and hold the second-best walks/hits per innings pitched at 1.14. The Huskies' pitching staff has six games this season without a walk and six games allowing three hits or less, with three games meeting both metrics. Northeastern's 3.77 ERA is also good for 14th in the nation, and the Huskies lead the NCAA in shutouts with seven. All four of those stats lead the CAA.
- DOGS vs. CATS
- The Huskies host the Hofstra Pride for their fourth conference weekend of the season, after winning their first three series against Towson at home (2-1), and against Stony Brook (3-0) and Campbell (2-1) on the road. Hofstra won their opening series on the road at Monmouth (2-1) before falling to William & Mary (0-3) in Williamsburg and UNCW (1-2) at home on Long Island. The two teams are 5-5 in the last 10 meetings between the programs, with Hofstra beating Northeastern three CAA tournament games in that stretch. Northeastern has won five of the last six regular season meetings between the two teams.
