THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- LAST TIME OUT:
- Northeastern won it's second consecutive Baseball Beanpot title this past Tuesday, 5-4 over Harvard, in the tournament's return to historic Fenway Park. The first Baseball Beanpot tourney held in America's Most Beloved Ballpark since 2019, the Huskies looked to defend their 2024 title against the Crimson, facing Harvard for the fourth time this season. Behind two RBI doubles from Alex Lane and another gem from midweek starter Max Gitlin, the Huskies repeated as Beanpot champs for the first time since 1994-95.
- WHERE THEY STAND
- The Huskies come into the weekend on a tear, winning all six CAA series so far, with a four-game lead in the conference. The Delaware Blue Hens shot up to fourth place after their series win over Hofstra (2-1) at home last weekend. The Hens have won four of the six CAA weekends, with their only series losses coming to Charleston on the road and Towson at home.
- SERIES HISTORY
- Last season the Huskies took the series from the 'Hens 2-1, winning the first two games of the weekend but falling in game three. The last time the two teams met at Friedman Diamond (2023), the Blue Hens came out firing on all cylinders, taking game one 10-3 on Friday to try and set the tone, but the Huskies responded well with a 9-0 victory on Saturday, and a 20-5 victory on Sunday. All-time the Huskies are 24-16 at Friedman Diamond against Delaware, but trail 49-54 in the all-time series.
- The Huskies are 9-5 all-time against the UMass Lowell River Hawks, winning the last five meetings between the two schools. The two teams have alternated midweeks in the last four seasons, playing at Lowell's Lelacheur Park in 2022 and 2024, and at Friedman in 2023 and 2025.
