GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Northeastern track and field team is ready to take on the 2025 CAA Outdoor Championships starting Wednesday, May 14, and running through Thursday, May 15. The Huskies enter as reigning outdoor champions and look to become the first team to win back-to-back outdoor titles since 2004.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- BUILDING PIECE BY PIECE — After 15 meets spanning across the last two months, the Huskies prepare for their final one of the 2024-25 season, the CAA Outdoor Championships. The campaign has seen tremendous strides from their opening meet at USF, recording 34 all-time outdoor performance list marks in 18 individual and team events. The team also set five new school records, highlighted by the men's and women's 4x100 relay teams breaking the records at the UConn Northeast Challenge in mid-April. Entering championship week, both teams rank top five in the CAA, according to USTFCCCA.
- CARISELLA RECAP — Northeastern hosted the 23rd Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational at the Solomon Track & Field Facility this past Saturday. Five athletes picked up individual wins, and 11 recorded personal bests. The meet also honored 27 seniors and graduate students for their final home meet dawning the Northeastern Husky logo.
- DOWN IN DUVAL — After the conclusion of the CAA Outdoor Championships, several Huskies will attempt to compete in the NCAA Division I East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Florida. Graduate students Cameron Rodgers (400m hurdles) and Nicholas Pisciotta (Hammer Throw), senior Ethan Exilhomme (110m hurdles), junior Mia Belanger (High Jump), and sophomores Savannah Blair (100m & 200m) and Brunner Williams (200m) rank in the top 48 of the East Qualifying Region entering championship week. The top 12 competitors from each event will then qualify for the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
