BOSTON – The Northeastern University men's soccer team (1-2-1, 0-1-0 CAA) returns home for a crucial conference matchup before hitting the road for another non-conference test. The Huskies host the Hofstra Pride (1-2-0, 0-0-0 CAA) on Saturday, September 6th at 6 p.m., before traveling to Loudonville to take on the Siena Saints (1-3-0) on Tuesday, September 9th at 5 p.m. Saturday's contest will air on FloCollege, and Tuesday's road game will stream on Sienna All-Access.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- PRIDE ON THE LINE: On Saturday the Huskies host the reigning CAA Tournament champions, the Hofstra Pride, who are winners of four consecutive conference tournaments. Hofstra, which earned a No. 7 national seed in last year's NCAA tournament, holds a 14-14-3 all-time record against Northeastern, with the Pride taking the most recent meeting 2-1 on October 28, 2023 at Parsons Field. Northeastern's last win over Hofstra was in the 11-win 2021 season, taking down the Pride at home by a score of 2-1.
- REMATCH WITH THE SAINTS: The Huskies travel to upstate New York to face Siena for the second straight season, with last year's meeting ending in a scoreless draw in Brookline on September 1, 2024. Northeastern holds a 3-4-1 all-time record against the Saints, with last season's meeting ending a 26-year hiatus in the all-time series, after the most previous matchup took place in 1998. This marks just the ninth all-time meeting between the programs, and the first in back-to-back seasons since 1997-98.
- EARLY SEASON ADVANTAGE: After dropping their CAA opener to Drexel 2-1, the Huskies are eager to bounce back on home soil against quality opposition. The Huskies hold a 1-0-1 record at home so far this season, outscoring opponents 4-2 at Parsons Field.
