No. 7 Women’s Hockey Travels To UNH

BOSTON— The No. 7 Northeastern women's hockey is set to travel to New Hampshire for a Hockey East contest against the Wildcats on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. The game will stream live on ESPN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. A SWEDE SENSATION: Sophomore netminder Lisa Jönsson was named to the National Goalie of the Year Watch List for the second year in a row. Jönsson was one of nine goalies to be named a National Goalie of the Year Semifinalist last season. This season Jönsson owns a 1.82 GAA and .925 save percentage. Her 1.82 GAA ranks as the 10th-best mark in the country. She has three shutouts on the season tied for the eighth-best mark in the NCAA. Her record sits at 13-4-0 and her winning percentage of .765 is sixth nationally. In Hockey East games, Jönsson has taken her game to another lever and leads all netminders with a 1.20 GAA, while her .949 save percentage ranks second.
  2. CHARGED UP: Offensively, the Huskies have scored 71 goals, tied for most among all Hockey East schools and tied for the 10th-best mark in the country. Senior Lily Shannon leads all Huskies 15 goals. Shannon, freshman Stryker Zablocki and senior Jules Constantinople are tied to lead the Huskies with four power-play goals each.
  3. DAWGS VS. CATS: The Huskies and Wildcats are set to meet for the second time this season with UNH winning game one, 4-3 in overtime. Kelly Harty scored the game-winner for the Wildcats. Both NU and UNH most recently fell to Boston University by a score of 2-1. The Huskies' loss came in the semifinal round of the Beanpot in overtime. Nina Rossi leads all Wildcats with 23 points, the fifth-best mark among all Hockey East players. Sedona Blair has started 15 games this season and played against NU earlier this season. She owns a .930 save percentage and 2.05 GAA. UNH has the best power-play percentage in Hockey East, converting at a .221 clip, just slightly above NU's .220.
Northeastern will next take on Boston College in the Beanpot's third-place game on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 4:30 p.m. at TD Garden.
