Swim & Dive Earn Senior Day Win Over Stony Brook

BOSTON – The Northeastern women's swimming and diving team (6-2) rolled past Stony Brook, 178–98, on Friday at Barletta Natatorium, claiming victories in 11 of 15 events to cap a dominant home performance.

  • Senior Anelise Kim swept the diving events, winning the 3-Meter Diving with a score of 257.70 and following up with a victory in the 1-Meter Diving at 263.90 points.

  • Northeastern opened the meet with a win in the 400 Medley Relay as the quartet of freshman Sophie Bromley, freshman Marea Li, junior May Bradburn and freshman Alex Campion touched first in 3:54.77, while the Huskies' A relay also placed second.

  • The Huskies swept the podium in the 200 Free, led by junior Mary Nordmann's first-place finish in 1:55.99, with freshmen Eliana Auerbach and freshman Abigail Gowern finishing second and third, respectively.

  • Senior Anna Verlander claimed gold in the 50 Back with a time of 26.90, while sophomore Delaney Alonso and freshman Sophie Bromley completed an all-Husky podium.

  • Northeastern again swept the top three in the 50 Breast as senior Marcela Scaramuzza won in 31.02, followed closely by freshman Marea Li and graduate student Elisabeth Bendall.

  • Junior May Bradburn captured first place in the 50 Free (24.05), while freshman Alex Fuller and junior Mary Nordmann tied for second at 24.14 to give Northeastern all three top finishes.

  • Fuller later added a win in the 100 Free, touching first in 53.79, with Alex Campion and Bradburn finishing second and third.

  • In the 1-Meter Diving, sophomore Maddie Wong took second place, earning a score of 234.50.

  • Verlander secured another victory for Northeastern in the 200 Back, winning in 2:05.99, as Bromley and freshman Rory Keller followed in second and third.

  • Freshman Abigail Gowern dominated the 500 Free, winning in 5:15.11, with junior Bella Busconi placing second.

  • Nordmann earned her second individual win of the meet by taking first in the 50 Fly (25.72), while senior Kotoko Blair finished third.

    The Huskies return to competition on February 6 and 7 for the Boston Winter Open hosted by Boston University. On February 7, Northeastern will also be hosing their diving invitational at Barletta Natatorium.
