THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- SCARLET & WHITE RECAP - Northeastern track and field turned in a strong showing at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational, led by event wins from junior Savannah Blair in the 60-meter dash, senior Leila Curtis in the shot put and graduate student Kyle Sarney in the mile. The Huskies added multiple podium and top-five finishes across sprints, distance and field events on both the men's and women's sides. Sarney earned the men's CAA Track Athlete of the week due to his stellar mile performance.
- OPENING WEEK RANKINGS – The USTFCCCA released its first regional and national indoor rankings of the season on Tuesday, with Northeastern earning strong recognition on both sides. The women's team checked in at seventh in the Northeast region and 72nd nationally, while the men's squad earned an 11th-place regional ranking. Individually, nine Huskies landed in the top 50 of their respective events, led by junior Camryn Cole's 11th-place national ranking in the high jump, along with top-50 marks from Brady Danyluk (800m), Lola Satre Morales (800m), Kyle Sarney (mile), Iolo Grant (60m hurdles) and the distance medley relay team of Stephanie Kriss, Brittani Westberry, Genna Cowan and Natasha Sortland, which ranked 22nd nationally.
- LAST YEAR LOOK BACK — Last year, the Huskies closed out a busy meet weekend at the John Thomas Terrier Classic and Harvard Invitational with strong performances across the board. The Huskies were highlighted by Benjamin Godish's school-record run in the men's 5000m, along with event wins from Ian Solberg (high jump), Savannah Blair (60m), and Thomas Landry (200m), plus multiple podium finishes and personal bests.
Northeastern returns to a double-meet weekend where the Huskies will compete at the ECAC\IC4A meet as well as the Riverhawk Invitational from Friday, Feb. 6 to Sunday, Feb. 8.
