THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. ROAD WARRIORS: Northeastern picked up its fourth win of the season with a 73-67 victory at Boston College on December 19, giving the Huskies a 3-5 record away from home this season. In contrast, Northeastern has played just four of their 12 games at the Cabot Center this season, with nine of their remaining 16 regular season games at home. The Huskies' three road wins came at Yale (75-64), UMass Lowell (51-46) and Boston College (73-67), with a home win over Sacred Heart in November. Junior guard
Yirsy Quéliz and sophomore guard
Camryn Collins share the team lead with 11.3 points per game, with Quéliz adding 3.8 rebounds and a team-best 3.1 assists per contest. Sophomore forward
Taylor Holohan leads the team with 4.5 rebounds per game and 12 blocks on the season, while sophomore forward
Justice Tramble is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game and grabbed a career-high 16 boards at Boston College.
2. SCOUTING THE AGGIES:Â The Aggies enter Friday's matchup at 5-8 overall and 0-2 in CAA play, marking their slowest conference start since the 2021-22 season in the Big South. Northeastern trails the all-time series 0-4, with all meetings coming since N.C. A&T joined the CAA in 2022-23. The defending CAA regular-season champions and head coach Tarrell Robinson, the reigning CAA Coach of the Year entering his 14th season, are leaning on redshirt senior center Chaniya Clark, a Preseason All-CAA First Team selection who leads the team with 10.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Graduate guard D'Mya Tucker has emerged as a secondary scoring option, tallying 14 points in the conference opener against William & Mary.
3. SCOUTING THE HAWKS:Â The Hawks are one of the hottest teams in the CAA, entering Sunday's matchup at 9-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play on a seven-game winning streak. Northeastern trails the all-time series 1-4, with Monmouth having won the last three meetings, including a CAA Tournament semifinal victory in 2022-23 when the Hawks became the lowest seed to ever win the conference tournament. Junior guard GiGi Gamble has been the catalyst for Monmouth's success, scoring a career-high 30 points in the conference opener against Elon and 25 against N.C. A&T. The NJCAA Division II Player of the Year transfer from CCBC Essex led the nation in three-point percentage (45.4%) last season at the junior college level. Junior forward Divine Dibula, a Preseason CAA Honorable Mention selection, provides a consistent interior presence alongside Buffalo transfer Alexis Davis. Head coach Cait Wetmore has the Hawks taking care of the ball, as they're 7-0 this season when committing fewer turnovers than their opponents. Monmouth hosts UNCW on Friday before making the trip to Boston on Sunday looking to extend its winning streak to eight games.
