Northeastern Hosts Elon On Friday And Saturday

BOSTON -- The Northeastern volleyball team returns to Cabot Center this weekend, hosting Elon for a two-match CAA series on Friday and Saturday at the Cabot Center

The Huskies will take on the Phoenix on Friday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. before closing out the weekend on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. Both matches will stream on FloCollege.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. SCOUTING THE PHOENIX – Elon enters the weekend with a 6-10 overall record and a 3-3 mark in CAA play. The Phoenix split a pair of matches against Stony Brook last weekend, earning a 3-1 victory on Friday before falling 3-1 on Saturday. Cameron Lanier leads Elon and ranks fifth in the CAA with 3.65 kills per set, while also ranking fifth in the conference with 4.16 points per set. Caroline Berlekamp and Catherine Rucker rank among the CAA's top hitters, posting .332 and .326 hitting percentages, respectively.
  2. ONES TO WATCH – Northeastern enters the weekend with five Huskies ranked among the CAA's statistical leaders. Emma Rowell ranks eighth in the conference with 3.18 kills per set, while setter Arina Sosinovica ranks seventh with 6.05 assists per set. Iris Canko sits fifth in the CAA with 3.19 digs per set, while Beatrice Gennari ranks seventh with 57 total blocks. Kaylin Daniels also ranks among the conference leaders, sitting 10th with 47 total blocks. Gennari has also been one of the CAA's most efficient attackers throughout the season, leading the conference with a .447 hitting percentage.
  3. HOME SWEET HOME – The Huskies return to Cabot Center looking to build on a 3-2 home record this season. Northeastern's most recent home series came against North Carolina A&T on Sept. 25-26, when the Huskies earned a pair of CAA victories, winning 3-1 on Friday before completing the sweep with a 3-2 victory on Saturday. After dropping both matches at UNCW last weekend, Northeastern looks to return home and continue its push in conference play.
