BOSTON - An impending winter storm that is expected to impact the Boston area across Sunday and Monday, has led to changes for the 2026 CAA Indoor Track and Field Championship schedule. Originally slated for two full days of competition, the championship will be conducted in one day and will commence and conclude on Sunday, Feb. 22.
The Northeastern track and field team will compete at The TRACK at New Balance, with competition beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding with the final event at 5:45 p.m.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- NOTHING NEW — The Huskies head into the conference championships following an impressive weekend at the BU Valentine Invitational and Harvard Crimson Open, where eight student-athletes earned spots in Northeastern's All-Time Top 10. Junior Ryan Sarney placed sixth and graduate student Ryan Slaney tenth in the 3000m, while freshman Brady Danyluk moved into eighth in the 800m. In the 1000m, freshman Lola Satre-Morales finished third and graduate student Stephanie Kriss took fifth. Sophomore Anaya Jones is now tied for fifth in the 60m, junior Waverly Hassman ranks second in the 500m, and senior Liangie Calderon claimed seventh in the weight throw.
- HUSKY HISTORY — Last year, both the men and women's teams took a third place podium finish at the indoor championships. The meet was highlighted by the team's collection of eight medals on day two of the championships, with senior Ben Godish taking home gold in the mile and 3000m. His three golds and two meet records earned him the CAA Men's Track Athlete of the Meet.
- CRAVING CAA COMPETITION — Northeastern will welcome 12 CAA programs to campus for the two-day championship meet. Entering the weekend, six Huskies currently sit atop the conference leader board in their respective events. Freshman Brady Danyluk leads the men's 800m, while freshman Lola Satre-Morales holds the top mark in the women's 800m. Graduate student Kyle Sarney ranks first in the mile, and the distance medley relay team of Hassman, Thomas, Kriss, and Satre-Morales owns the conference's fastest time. Junior Camryn Cole leads the high jump, and senior Leila Curtis sits first in the shot put.
