Huskies Etch Six All-Time Marks On Opening Day Of UCF Black & Gold Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. – Six all-time outdoor marks headlined the Northeastern track and field season opener at the UCF Gold & Black Invitational Friday.

FIELD EVENTS
  • Freshman Matthew St. Cyr launched a personal-best throw of 61.82m in the javelin, good for third place and fifth all-time in program history.
  • Junior Hannah Shaw tied for ninth in the women's pole vault, clearing 3.57m to slot in at 10th all-time in program history. Junior Katie Rodriguez followed in 12th, clearing 3.42m.
  • Freshman Carter Engelman cleared 4.68m in the men's pole vault, finishing eighth.
  • Senior Leila Curtis posted a fifth-place finish in the women's shot put, launching 14.75m — fourth all-time in program history.
TRACK EVENTS
  • Freshman Aiden Ray crossed the line in 53.21 in the men's 400m hurdles, finishing 10th and landing ninth all-time in program history.
  • Junior Savannah Blair raced to 15th in the women's 200m dash, clocking a 23.79 that ties for fourth all-time in program history.
  • Junior Brunner Williams sprinted to eighth in the men's 200m dash, posting a 20.99 — fifth all-time in program history.
Day two — and the final day — of the UCF Gold & Black Invitational gets underway tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
