THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- CHARGED UP: Offensively, the Huskies have scored 85 goals, most among all Hockey East schools and tied for the 11th-best mark in the country. The Huskies power-play is tops among all Hockey East programs, converting at a .216 clip. Northeastern scored two power-play goals against Holy Cross last weekend when the Crusaders penalty kill was ranked first in the nation.
- KEEPING THE MAINE THING, THE MAINE THING: Northeastern and Maine met twice previously this season in Orono, with NU taking home 3-1 and 2-1 victories. It marked the first time since the 2012-13 season that Northeastern swept Maine in Orono. Sophomore Lisa Jönsson and freshman Renna Trembecky each posted wins in goal for the Huskies. In the two previous meetings, senior Lily Shannon potted four goals to lead all players. Maine most recently split a series with Boston College. Isabelle Michaud and Mackenzie Podewell lead the Black Bears with 14 points each. Kiia Lahtinen has played the bulk of the minutes in net and owns a .919 save percentage and 2.47 GAA.
- WHAT'S A CATAMOUNT: NU and UVM are meeting for the third and final time this season on Saturday. The Huskies won both previous matchups this season by scores of 3-0 and 3-2, with Jönsson in goal for both wins. The Catamounts will face Boston University on Thursday before hosting the Huskies. UVM most recently dropped two games to Providence. Stella Retrum, the reigning Hockey East Player of the Month, leads UVM with 21 points.
The Huskies will next face Boston University on Friday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.
