NU Finishes Day One Of River Hawk Invite

BOSTON – The Northeastern track and field team delivered several standout performances at the UMass Lowell River Hawk Invitational, highlighted by junior Savannah Blairs 60m dash first place and senior Leila Curtis championing the shot put. 
 

  • Finishing fourth in the 60m hurdles finals, sophomore Jaice Dorsey clocked a time of 8.67, while sophomore Elena Olson added a sixth-place finish in 8.80.

  • Sophomore Morgan Hayward earned a runner-up finish in the invitational 400m dash with a time of 55.64, and sophomore Sloan Hinton followed with a 58.64 performance.

  • Junior Savannah Blair captured first place in the 60m dash finals with a winning time of 7.50.

  • In the 200m dash invite, junior Victoria Knight posted a 25.47 mark, with Hayward close behind at 25.48.

  • Freshman Genna Cowan recorded a strong distance effort in the 1000m run, finishing in 3:01.50.

  • Sophomore Emily McCann led the Huskies in the mile with a fifth place finish at 4:58.96, while freshman Emersyn Deponte and sophomore Alanna Hagen followed in 5:01.08 and 5:03.75, respectively.

  • Sophomore Anna Lonergan paced Northeastern in the 3000m run, crossing in 10:06.78 and earning seventh place.

  • Senior Mia Belanger cleared 1.60m in the high jump to finish in fifth place.

  • In the weight throw, senior Liangi Calderon took third place with a mark of 16.53m.

  • Earning a victory in the shot put, senior Leila Curtis threw a mark of 14.36m.

  • Senior Ava Carry-McDonald leapt to a 11.26m mark in the long jump to earn sixth place.
