NU Tangles With Harvard Monday At TD Garden

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team faces Harvard in the second round of the Beanpot on Monday, Feb. 9, with puck drop scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at TD Garden.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. PAINTING THE GARDEN RED: This marks the second meeting between the two programs this season and the 110th all-time. Harvard holds the all-time advantage in the series with a 69-39-1 record. However, the Huskies have dominated recent matchups, going 12-7-1 in the last 20 meetings with nine of those victories coming in Beanpot play. During that stretch, Northeastern has controlled possession, outscoring the Crimson 60-43.
  2. NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK: The Huskies' 12 new skaters have made an immediate impact this season, combining for 96 points (31g, 65a) to account for roughly 51 percent of Northeastern's scoring. Freshman Jacob Mathieu leads all newcomers with 23 points (7g, 16a), while freshman Giacomo Martino paces new arrivals with eight goals. In net, transfer goaltender Lawton Zacher has posted 10 wins and leads the nation with four shutouts. His .929 save percentage is tied for fifth nationally, while his 2.13 goals-against average ranks 13th overall.
  3. FUKAKUSA FOR 100 PLEASE: Junior forward Tyler Fukakusa has appeared in all 26 games this season, recording 13 points on two goals and 11 assists, and hit a milestone in the Huskies' most recent outing on Friday, Feb. 6—skating in his 100th career game against UConn to become the fifth Northeastern skater to hit the century mark this season. Since transferring to Northeastern, Fukakusa opened his Huskies career with a two-assist performance in a 6-4 victory over Holy Cross and recorded eight points in his first eight contests in the Red & Black.
