AMESBURY, Mass.— Sophomore
Lisa Jönsson of the No. 5 Northeastern women's hockey team was named the Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week as announced on Monday.
Jönsson posted 74 saves over two games for Northeastern in the Hockey East Tournament. She tallied 20 saves in a 3-1 victory against Vermont in the Hockey East Semifinals. The Stockholm, Sweden native then posted a career-high 54 saves in a 2-1 double overtime loss to No. 6 UConn in the Hockey East Championship.
On the season, Jönsson owns a 1.60 goals against average and .941 save percentage.
Jönsson and the Huskies are back in action in the NCAA Tournament, taking on No. 4 Minnesota on Saturday, March 14 at 3 p.m. ET at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis. The game will stream live on ESPN+.
