BOSTON - The Northeastern track and field team enters their busiest weekend of the season, preparing for four meets in four states. The Huskies open with the Wake Forest Invitational and the first day of the Virginia Challenge on Thursday, April 16. On Friday, April 17 competition at Virginia resumes, as well as the start of the MIT Sean Collier Invitational and the UConn Northeast Challenge. They then conclude with the second and final days at UConn and MIT on Saturday, April 18.
- THE LIST KEEPS GROWING — The Outdoor All-Time Performance List continues to expand with standout performances from this season. At the Friar Invitational, junior Ryan Sarney clocked an 8:56.76 in the 3000m steeplechase to move into fourth all-time. Additional marks came from sophomore Elena Olson, who ran 14.25 in the 100m hurdles to rank tenth, freshman Ogechi Nathan, who jumped 12.10m in the triple jump to take fifth, and senior Leila Curtis, who recorded a 14.76m mark in the shot put for fourth all-time. The men's 4x100 relay team of Michael Stroup, Brunner Williams, Raymond Felton III, and Taeshawn Berry also made their mark, finishing seventh all-time at the Miami Invitational.
- REMEMBER THE NAMES —Northeastern features two athletes ranked among the top 50 nationally. Graduate student Kyle Sarney leads the way in the 3000m steeplechase, with a personal-best 8:41.67 that ranks 20th in the country. Freshman Matthew St. Cyr has also made an impact, sitting 42nd nationally in the javelin with a throw of 66.66m.
- ANOTHER BUSY WEEKEND — The Huskies return to UConn, Wake Forest, Virginia, and MIT for the third straight season. Across the four meets last season, there were many all-time marks, and several recorded personal bests and top-ten finishes. At UConn, the Huskies picked up three school records in both the men's and women's 4x100m and a 200m record broken by Savannah Blair. Northeastern looks to make another statement at this years competition.
