BOSTON -- The Northeastern University baseball team (20-16, 10-5 CAA) makes the trip south for a three-game CAA weekend series at North Carolina A&T (10-25, 3-12 CAA), with games scheduled for Friday, April 17 at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m., and Sunday, April 19 at 1 p.m., all streamed on FloCollege. The Huskies enter the series 2.5 games behind first-place Monmouth in the North Division, with three games in hand.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
1. RUNNING WILD: The Huskies have been one of the most aggressive baserunning teams in the country all season, and entering this weekend, they're within striking distance of the national lead. Northeastern comes in with 140 stolen bases — first in the CAA and second in the nation behind VMI's 152 — needing just 13 swipes to take sole possession of the top spot in college baseball. Left fielder Harrison Feinberg leads the charge with 27 steals, good for 6th in the NCAA, while shortstop Carmelo Musacchia has chipped in with 25 stolen bases of his own, good for third in the CAA and 11th nationally. The Huskies swiped 11 bags in a single game at Brown alone on March 18th and have swiped four or more bases in 13 of their 36 contests — a record of 13-5 in those outings. Against a North Carolina A&T team that has allowed 142 stolen base attempts (25 caught) on the year, Northeastern's running game could once again be the difference-maker.
2. RE-WRITING THE RECORD BOOKS: Harrison Feinberg, with his solo shot in the fourth inning off Boston College, clubbed his 43rd career home run, breaking the program record that had stood since 2009. The Greenwich, Connecticut native is now the most prolific home run hitter in program history — and he's heating up at the right time. Feinberg is hitting .346/.460/.684 on the season with 12 home runs and 43 RBIs, including three home runs in the series finale against Maine on April 12th (3-for-4, 6 RBI), his first career three-homer game. Over his four-year career, Feinberg has slashed .315/.417/.618 across 167 games, with 43 home runs, 154 RBIs, and 70 stolen bases in 77 attempts — one of the most complete offensive profiles the program has produced. He entered the season as the CAA Preseason Player of the Year, a D1Baseball Second-Team Preseason All-American, and a Golden Spikes Award Watch List selection, and is fresh off his first CAA Player of the Week honor of the season.
3. SCOUTING THE AGGIES: North Carolina A&T comes into the series sitting sixth and last in the CAA South Division entering the weekend. The Aggies have had a challenging 2026 campaign — their early schedule included a difficult stretch against high-major and Power Conference competition, and they've struggled to find consistency in league play, dropping series to Campbell, UNCW, Charleston, William & Mary, and Elon. That said, they enter Friday's opener off a midweek win over High Point. The Aggies can't be overlooked in the friendly confines of World War Memorial Stadium in Greensboro, where Northeastern has yet to win a series, after Northeastern dropped its first-ever series in The War in 2024, 1-2. Northeastern holds a 6-3 advantage in the all-time series, including a dominant 12-0 run-rule win in the most recent meeting on May 17, 2025 at Friedman Diamond, and the Huskies have won four straight in the all-time series.
