BOSTON -- Robbie O'Connor needed just 101 pitches to dispatch Towson on Thursday, firing a three-hit shutout in a 7-0 Northeastern victory at Schuerholz Park to earn CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week honors.
The complete game was the third of O'Connor's career and first as a Husky, having previously gone the distance twice at UMass, allowing just one run across those two outings (7.0 and 9.0 innings). Thursday's gem was arguably his best yet — the right-hander allowed just one runner past second base all afternoon, held the Tigers hitless in their final four innings and induced 14 groundouts against a Towson lineup that went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
O'Connor (9-1) walked just one batter and threw 65 of his 101 pitches for strikes. His ground-ball-heavy approach kept Towson off balance from the opening pitch, as the Northeastern defense turned two double plays behind him.
The win improved the Huskies to 33-18 overall and 21-7 in CAA play, clinching a CAA Tournament bye as the Huskies went 2-1 against Towson in the final regular season series of 2026.
O'Connor is the third Northeastern pitcher to earn CAA Pitcher of the Week this season, and it's the fourth time a Husky arm has claimed the honor in the 2026 campaign. The Huskies claim the honor in back to back weeks, with Luc Rising earning Co-Pitcher of the Week honors last Monday. Northeastern opens CAA Tournament play on Thursday in Wilmington, N.C. against the highest remaining seed from Wednesday's games. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. on FloCollege.
