HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Northeastern (2-4, 1-0 CAA) scored in each quarter, including a pair of goals in the fourth, to cruise past Hofstra (2-4, 0-1 CAA) by a score of 5-0 Friday afternoon at Cindy Lewis Stadium.
- Amelia Albers opened the scoring in the first quarter, finding the back of the cage for her first goal of the season to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
- Maggie Lundy doubled the Northeastern advantage in the second quarter, scoring off assists from Maddie Funk and Alex Mega as the Huskies took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
- Alex Mega extended the lead in the third quarter, scoring off an assist from Jessica Garden to make it 3-0 heading into the final period.
- Mega tallied another goal in the fourth quarter off a cross in front by Julia Puccio to make it 4-0, and Puccio added a goal of her own just under 30 seconds later to cap the Huskies' five-goal performance and secure the shutout.
- Aiko Price made four saves to record the shutout in goal for Northeastern, her second win and second shutout of the season.
- The Huskies finished with a 19-8 advantage in shots and a 14-4 edge in shots on goal.
Northeastern returns to action Sunday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m., traveling to Cambridge, Mass., to face No. 7 Harvard.
