DEDHAM, Mass. -- Northeastern field hockey (3-5, 2-0 CAA) remained undefeated in Coastal Athletic Association play Friday afternoon, earning a 2-0 shutout victory over William & Mary (1-6, 0-1 CAA) at Dedham Field.
- The Huskies controlled the opening quarter, outshooting William & Mary, 5-0, while earning a pair of penalty corners. Phoebe Hall put two shots on goal in the opening minutes off of those corner opportunities, but the Huskies could not yet convert.
- Northeastern broke through in the second quarter when Maggie Lundy scored off a penalty corner at 20:22, with Lucy Walton and Amelia Albers providing assists. The goal marked Lundy's second of the season and gave the Huskies a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
- The Huskies added to their lead in the third quarter when Hall found the back of the cage at 38:26, converting another penalty-corner opportunity off assists from Alex Mega and Albers. Hall's first career goal gave the Huskies some insurance heading into the final 15.
- Aiko Price and the Northeastern defense protected the two-goal advantage in the final quarter, as Price made three saves to preserve her third consecutive shutout and second straight clean sheet in CAA play.
- Northeastern finished the afternoon with an 18-4 advantage in shots and earned nine penalty corners to William & Mary's two. Price recorded four saves in the shutout, improving her shutout streak to 195 straight scoreless minutes.
- The win marks the first 2-0 start to conference play for Northeastern since the 2022 season.
Northeastern will head on the road for another top-10 Sunday matchup, facing the No. 7 UConn Huskies on September 27 at 12 p.m.
