Binghamton 1, Northeastern 0 (Game 2)

The Binghamton University Bearcats (14-21, 7-3 America East) defeated Northeastern (13-13, 2-8 AE) 1-0 in game two of a doubleheader sweep for the new conference members.

Jamie Boyer hit a solo homer to provide all the offense winning pitcher Mike Weglinski would need. Weglinski pitched six innings of four-hit ball for his second win of the season. He walked only one and struck out three, lowering his ERA to 2.75.

With one out in the bottom of the first inning, Boyer hit his second home run of the season to center field, giving Binghamton a 1-0 lead. The Huskies' best scoring threat came in the second inning. Ben Beck led off with a single and advanced to second when Colin Gaynor drew a walk. Weglinski buckled down, however, getting the next two batters to fly out before Beck was caught stealing to end the inning.

Phil Artonio took over for Weglinski and worked a perfect seventh inning, recording a pair of strikeouts and picking up his fifth save of the season.
