Down 1-0, URI got a pair of runs in the fifth to take the lead for good. The Rams used the bunt successfully all afternoon. Matt Sullivan bunted for a hit down the third base line and moved to second on Mike Rainville's single through the left side. Jared Trout followed with another bunt to NU's typical catcher, Luke Carlin, who was starting at third base for the Huskies. It went for hit to load the bases. Justin Lamboy followed with a single to drive in the first run and Rainville came home to score when Dan Batz reached on a fielder's choice.

Matthew Jackson started the sixth with a bunt hit and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Jarad Lydon. John Blaze walked and Rainville then singled to left and Jackson got tangled up with Carlin heading to third. Jackson was awarded home with an interference call, making it 3-1.

Harris scattered seven hits and worked out of several jams. The Huskies had a runner thrown out at the plate in the first inning when Sullivan nailed Brad Czarnowski trying to score from second on a Ben Beck single. Miguel Paquette gave the Huskies an early 1-0 lead when he blasted his team-leading sixth homer of the season off Harris to lead off the second inning.

Beck led off the ninth with a double, but again Harris avoided trouble, sending down the next three batters to end the game.
