Northeastern split a doubleheader with Boston College, winning the second game 3-2 in 10 innings. With a runner on second and one out in the bottom of the 10th, freshman Arman Sidhu slapped a single to center. Brian Nutting looked like he was going to score, but Drew Locke gunned him out at home for the second out of the inning. The next batter, Matt Morizio, ripped a double to right-center, and Sidhu came all the way around from first with the winning run.
First baseman Tim Bush put the Huskies on the board first with an RBI fielder's choice in the top of the second.
Boston College went up 2-1 in the fourth on a Matt Lederhos RBI double to center and Jason Delaney's sacrifice fly.
Nutting tied it in the bottom of the frame with an RBI single, scoring designated hitter Jeff Maher, who led off the inning with a triple.
That's when the pitching took over as the two teams combined for just five hits over the next six innings.
The closest Boston College came to scoring was in the top of the 10th, when it got a runner to third with one out. However, an attempted squeeze play went awry, and Northeastern turned a 2-6 double play to end the inning.
Matt Pileski picked up his first win of the season for the Huskies, pitching the final two innings. BC junior Matt O'Donnell went the distance, giving up three runs (all earned) on eight hits while striking out six and walking none.
