Northeastern fell to Albany 11-2 in the first game of a doubleheader in Colonie, N.Y. Dan Schoonmaker paced the Great Danes by going 3-4 with two RBIs. His triple in the bottom of the fourth drove in Brendan Chiavaro to cap a three-run inning and increase the Albany lead to 7-2.
After scoring three runs in both the second and fourth innings, the Great Danes added four more in the bottom half of the sixth to seal the victory.
Omar Pena had two hits and scored one of NU's two runs to lead the Huskies. Sophomore Devin Monds picked up the loss after allowing seven runs (four earned) in 3 1/3 innings.
Albany junior Adam Kroft went the distance for his second win, allowing two runs, neither earned, on five hits with three strikeouts. Northeastern committed five errors, which led to seven unearned runs.
