Northeastern is now 27-18 overall and 13-6 in America East games. Albany improves to 36-11 and 14-6. The America East regular season champ is determined by winning-percentage.

Justin Hedrick (5-4) started and took the loss for NU. He went 6-2/3 innings and allowed all four of Albany's runs. Adam Kroft (7-3) earned the win after pitching the complete game for Albany. Kroft struck out five.

The Great Danes pounded out four-straight hits followed by an error to score three runs in the top of the sixth to make it 4-2. Brad Daniels, Joe Lamb and Steve Wyland each batted in runs. The inning ended when NU cathcer Dan Milano threw out Lamb trying to steal second.

The Huskies scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning. Miguel Paquette hit a single that scored Brad Czarnowski from second, and Tim Bush hit into a fielder's choice that scored Jeff Heriot. Albany took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Lamb scored on a sac-fly by Dan Schoonmaker.

The series finale begins at noon on Saturday. Northeastern will try for its first ever regular season conference title. NU has never missed the America East Tournament and won in 1994, '97 and 2003.
