Box score

The Northeastern women's volleyball team continued its winning ways on Friday, dominating UNC Wilmington en route to a 3-0 victory, with set scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-20.

With the win, Northeastern moves to 13-7 on the season with a 4-2 mark in CAA play.

The Huskies started off the contest with a bang, as the first serve of the first set was an ace from freshman Ina Kamenova. The Huskies never trailed in the first set, and the closest score in the entire set was 5-4. Northeastern sealed the 25-16 set victory with a kill from freshman Janelle Tucker.

UNC Wilmington opened the second set with a service ace of their own from Kelsy Bendig, whose serving helped the Seahawks jump out to an early 5-0 lead. The Huskies would battle back to tie the set at seven, then at eight, before Northeastern took a 9-8 lead in the set they would not relinquish.

With a narrow 14-13 lead late in the second set, the Huskies rode the serving of Tucker and senior libero Jessica LaScola to win 11 of the set's final 13 points for a 25-15 set victory.

The Huskies held a 19-18 victory late in the third and final set, and thanks to the strong serving of Kamenova and senior Helene Servillon were able to seal the victory. Senior Britney Brown had the game's final kill in a 25-20 set and match victory.

The Huskies attack was led by their dynamic freshmen outside hitter duo of Kelly Bacon and Tucker. Bacon registered 12 kills on 25 total attacks with a .320 attack percentage. Tucker notched 11 kills and 9 digs, along with a pair of service aces.

Brown played a solid all-around match, registering six kills, seven digs and dishing out a team-high 18 assists. Kamenova also dished out 18 assists, while chipping in a team-high four service aces and five digs.

LaScola led the Huskies with 18 digs. Junior Lauryn Ciszek added a solid spark off the bench for Northeastern, registering five kills on eight total attacks with a .500 attack percentage.

The Huskies continue their CAA roadtrip on Sunday when they take on Georgia State. Match time is 2 p.m.
