The Northeastern women's cross country team matched its best finish in program history with a fourth-place finish at the 2010 CAA Cross Country Championship on Saturday at UNC Wilmington.
Northeastern finished in fourth place in 2008.
Senior
Kristen Martin led the Huskies with an 11th-place finish, crossing the line in 21:45 for the 6,000-meter challenge. The Dracut, Mass. native was decorated with All-CAA laurels after placing in the top 12 runners on Saturday.
Seniors
Jess Barton and
Seri Gordon also registered top-20 finishes, placing 16th and 17th, respectively. Barton clocked in at 22:10 and Gordon was right behind her at 22:12.
Junior
Meegan Joly earned a 24th-place finish at 22:25 while freshman
Danielle Klein finished 50th at 23:23.
Freshman
Lauren Wardwell completed the course in 23:41 for 62nd place. Senior
Annie Scully posted a time of 24:30 for 78th place.
Junior
Kathleen Keen finished in 84th place at 24:47 while senior
Jillian Buck clocked in at 25:36 for 89th place. Freshman
Hannah Doss concluded the journey in 26:17 for 94th place.
James Madison claimed the CAA title with four runners claiming top-10 finishes. The Lady Dukes ended William & Mary's seven-year run of claiming the league title.
Northeastern will enter the NCAA Regional Championship in Madison, Conn. at Hammonnaset Park on Saturday, Nov. 13.
