In a triangular regatta on the Charles, Brown's women's crew, the reigning Eastern Sprints champions, bested Boston University and Northeastern University over the 2000-meter course.

Going into the race Brown was listed three in this week's Eastern Sprints poll, with NU at six and BU at 12. Northeastern stepped into this race at the last moment after having its scheduled race with Miami (OH) cancelled.

Brown controlled the race from start to finish with a time of 6:27.43 with BU at 6:44.6 and Northeastern at 6:46.1. The Huskies built a full-length lead over BU by the 500-meter mark. However, the Terriers used the middle 1000 to walk through NU and sprinted to the finish line in to the Huskies.

Next week Northeastern will defend its crown at the 2nd annual CAA Championship.
