On Saturday, seniors Celeste Holder and Consandria Walker, juniors Serena Allen, Angelique Marcus and Seri Gordon and sophomores Sarah Trotman, Nikki Cunha and Saleena Abur-Rashed donned the red and black and the UTech Track & Field Classic at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

Gordon put up NU's best finish, claiming second inn the 1,500-meter run at a clip of 4:52.90.

Both Cunha and Holder finished third in their respective events. Cunha hustled across the line in 57.26 during the 400-meter dash while Holder cleared 5.74m in the long jump. Holder's distance in Jamaica marked her second-best leap of the season. Walker finished sixth in the same event with a spring of 5.49m.

Marcus represented Northeastern in the 800-meter run, crossing in 2:16.48 for eighth whereas Abdur-Rashed motored through the 100-meter hurdles in 14.56 for fourth place.

In the 100-meter dash, Allen's mark of 12.93 earned her fifth while Trotman picked up the same place at a rate of 26.23 in the 200-meter dash.

The 4 x 100-meter relays team banded together for third place, turning in a time of 46.99.

In addition to competing internationally, the eight Huskies were fortunate enough to contend at the same event as Olympic superstars Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell. Bolt is the world-record holder in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and became the first man to win three sprinting events at a single Olympics (2008 Beijing) since Carl Lewis in 1984. He was also the first man to set world records in all three at a single Olympics. Powell was the previous 100-meter record holder before Bolt usurped that claim. Northeastern will have the luxury of running trying to keep up with Bolt for the second-straight week as he will be competing at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia this weekend.

Northeastern will make its way to the world-renowned Penn Relays starting on Thursday, Apr. 22.
