The Northeastern women's rowing team concluded its fall season Saturday at the Foot of the Charles Regatta. The regatta was the third of the fall season for the Huskies, who also raced in the Head of the Charles Regatta and the Princeton Chase.
Annually, the Foot of the Charles brings together the top teams from across New England and the surrounding regions. Joining the Huskies on the Charles this weekend were Boston College, Brown, Boston University, MIT, Radcliffe, Rutgers, Syracuse, Buffalo, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Northeastern collected two top-three finishes on the day, claiming third in the Novice 8 race (14:07.9) and third in the Third Varsity 8 (14:04.9). The Huskies also had four crews row in the Varsity 4 race.
"The results of today's racing, much like the Princeton Chase, show a great deal of depth on our team," Head Coach
Joe Wilhelm said. "I am particularly happy with the performance of our Novice 8 and our Third Varsity 8. Both crews finished third in a very competitive event."
Northeastern's spring schedule begins with a winter break training trip to Florida (Jan. 2-8) and a spring break training trip to South Carolina (March 3-10). The Huskies will them row at Clemson on March 10, before returning to the Charles River for the Beanpot on March 24. Joining Northeastern at the Beanpot will be local rivals Boston College, Boston University, Harvard and MIT.
