Brittany Blackwell led the Seahawks with 17 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double while Martha White also recorded a double-digit scoring performance with 14 points to go with seven rebounds.

White got the Seahawks on the board first, and would score the first six points for UNCW, as the Seahawks opened the game with a 9-0 run before Mayberry notched the first points for Northeastern with a jumper at 15:58. The Huskies received a pair for free throws from Cannon after to interrupt a 7-2 UNCW run.

Tunstull brought the margin to 10-points, 16-6, before a timeout taken at 11:54. Following the break, Cannon stepped in front of a Seahawks pass and went coast-to-coast for a fast-break layup but UNCW stifled the Huskies attempt at a run with a three-pointer on its next possession. Tunstull tallied her second basket of the night to bring the Huskies within 10, but Blackwell pushed the Seahawks' lead back to double-digits, 21-10, on the other end.

Kerkhof posted her first points of the afternoon with under nine minutes to go with a put-back layup after a Huber miss and then Huber scored her first points of the afternoon with a jumper in the paint. The Seahawks followed with five unanswered points. The Huskies prevented the Seahawks from scoring in the final three minutes of the half and Kerhof intercepted a Seahawks pass with under a minute to go and fed the ball to Mayberry for a layup to send the teams to the locker rooms with UNCW holding a 27-16 advantage.

The Seahawks opened the second half with a Kristen Hanzer jumper and Huber posted a layup on the other end for Northeastern. Huber then sunk a pair of opportunities from the charity stripe to bring the score to 29-20 with just over 17 minutes left on the clock. Blackwell quickly put the Seahawks back on top by double-digits with a jumper.

Both teams were held scoreless for over three minutes before White hit a shot for the Seahawks. Kerkhof followed with a basket for the Huskies and Tunstull brought the advantage back down to single-digits, 33-24. White allowed the Seahawks to briefly regain a double-digit lead but Dani Iervolino sunk her first shot of the afternoon from beyond the arc to bring the lead back down. Alisha Andrews responded with a three-pointer of her own on the other end for UNCW and Blackwell earned a trip to the line to give the Seahawks a 40-27 lead with 10:22 to play.

Huber and Blackwell exchanged field goals, respectively, and Conroy sunk two from the line to bring the margin back down to 11-points, 42-31, with 6:10 showing on the clock.
