Even though the springtime atmosphere was absent from Saturday's Solomon Invitational, Northeastern's victories were not as the women's track & field team braved the cold climate and captured seven individual victories in the squad's final home meet of the season.

Senior captain Althea Charles continues to blaze a path in her final season as a Husky, notching triumphs in both the hammer throw (58.05m – 190'5) and shot put (13.06m – 42'10.25). The West Orange, N.J. native posted her second-best marks in each event this season in her final meet in Dedham, Mass.

Classmate Heather Crocker followed suit in the javelin throw after crushing the competition with a throw of 39.11m (128'4). Crocker's nearest competitor dialed in at 116'6.

Sophomore Jillena Decareret delivered her third outdoor victory of the season in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.51m (11'6.25) while classmate Lauren Bennett's vault of 3.11 (10'2.5) was good for second place.

On the oval, the Huskies were equally as impressive after securing wins in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles.

Rookie Ashlee Pitts won her first collegiate event after crossing the line in 12.69 for the 100-meter dash crown while junior Sarah Trotman's time of 25.90 in the 200-meter dash bested 41 other sprinters for the title.

Freshman Chelsea Hudson was awarded top billing in the 400-meter hurdles after rounding the track in 1:04.41.

In the 800-meter run, junior Laura Coyne registered a second-place jaunt of 2:21.32 while classmate Courtney Mortimer grabbed fourth after coming in moments behind at 2:22.07. In the 400-meter dash, junior Christiana Gallagher posted a fourth-place performance of 1:00.04. In the 100-meter hurdles, newcomer Kate Madigan acquired third-place laurels after a time of 16.27.

Other impressive finishes on the track included freshman Sepanta Padrah-Vajdy's time of 12.87 for fifth in the 100-meter dash and junior Kamilah Rowe's 11th-place spring of 27.77 in the 200-meter dash. Senior veteran Seri Gordon missed out on the 1,500-meter run title by one and a half seconds after tallying a time of 4:39.14. Freshman Danielle Klein kicked in a time of 4:51.22 for fifth place in the same event.

Back in the field, freshman Ally Crooke cleared 1.47m (4'9.75) for fourth in the high jump while rookie Olivia Stevens recorded a third-place launch of 4.97m (16'3.75) in the long jump. Stevens also took part in the triple jump, securing the same spot as the long jump with a clearance of 11.29m (37'0.5).

Sophomore Rachel Taback turned in a great day, logging a pair of second-place finishes in both the discus throw and shot put. Taback tossed for 38.20m (125'4) in the discus throw and 45.66m (149'10) in the hammer throw. In the shot put, Taback captured fifth place with a throw of 10.97m (36'0).

Joining Crocker in the javelin throw were senior Ashley Furlong and Crooke. Furlong and Crooke finished eighth and 11th, respectively, after marks of 29.32m 996'2) and 26.18m (85'11).

Northeastern will split up before heading to the CAA Championship and send some Huskies to the famed Penn Relays while others will participate in the Stonehill Invitational next weekend.
